Originally from the city of Montreal in Canada, Yves Renaud, better known as DJ Mukunda, has always been called by music. He learned the guitar during adolescence and formed his own alternative metal music band, where he practiced scratching. He also became a resident dj in a nightclub for a few years.
The Mukunda project was born in 2020, after a few years of withdrawal, where he needed to begin a spiritual journey along the path of healing. The name Mukunda is a word in Sanskrit and refers to the liberation from our material life conditioning. It is therefore in this perspective that the musician situates the musical journey that he offers to his audience. Every of his dj sets are rituals for him, which invite connection, sharing and the elevation of consciousness.
He was also able to perform in numerous indoor events in Montreal and Ontario, as well as in several festivals in Quebec such as the Eclipse, Timeless and Saint-Jean Basstiste festivals, to name a few. Most recently, he was invited to perform in Europe in an event produced by his home label. It is also with honor that he shared the tables with Liquid Soul, Talamasca, G.M.S., Transient Disorder, Tristan, Altered State, Fungus Funk, Digicult and Metronome.
Dj Mukunda is a lover of the Earth and likes to remember that life is a continuous learning process. He is therefore committed to continually improving and surpassing himself in his artistic career, without limiting himself to the dualistic borders of this world.
